Row Row Row Your Boat

Recently, I have become a fan of the rowing machine at the gym.  I take that back.  I have become obsessed with the rowing machine at the gym.  After constantly reading about it, and finally joining a gym that has a few, I couldn’t wait to jump on it.  After seeing the extreme physiques in the movie, 300, I found out that Gerard Butler, the lead, returned to the rowing machine consistently through out his muscle confusion workouts that lasted over four months.  When I walked into my new gym and the machine caught my eye, I swear a light from heaven radiated around it.  I had waited a few years for this moment.

*Side note.  I’m not some crazy meat head who spends the majority of my day infront of the mirror.  That’s not me.  Heart disease runs in my family, so a few years ago, I decided that working out had to become an obsession and a lifestyle so I wouldn’t end up like my grandfather (died at age 45… never met him).

Some of the machines come with games, or challenges programmed into it so you can actually race against the computer.  That’s a lot better than jogging mindlessly on a treadmill for thirty minutes.  If you need some help getting started (like I did), here’s a great routine to build your way up.
